Police arrest Alta Loma man for allegedly growing marijuana at two large indoor sites

Two large indoor marijuana grows with a combined street value of about $4.5 million have been discovered in Fontana, according to the Fontana Police Department.

Police arrested Angel Kou, 30, of Alta Loma on charges of cultivation of marijuana, maintaining a residence for drugs, theft of utilities, and conspiracy.

On May 1, Fontana P.D. officers located a marijuana grow in the 14500 block of Mammoth. About 2,080 mature marijuana plants were found at that site, police said.

Narcotics officers continued their investigation, leading to the discovery of another indoor marijuana grow in the 6200 block of Long Cove. This location had about 500 mature marijuana plants and 150 harvested buds weighing more than 150 pounds.

The theft of about $100,000 in electricity from Southern California Edison supplied the power to make the grow possible, police said.

This was one of the largest indoor marijuana grows in Fontana's recent history.
