Getting paid wouldn't be possible without the payroll professionals who make it happen.
Between Sept. 2 and 6, the City of Fontana is honoring the nation’s payroll employees by raising awareness, through a social media campaign, of the role they play in keeping the city functioning and providing more information on the updated W-4 form.
Starting Sept. 2, residents can tune in to the City of Fontana’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Nextdoor) for payroll fun facts, resources to understanding this upcoming tax season and more. Residents can ask questions on any of those social media accounts, participate in a payroll quiz, and use the IRS' withholding tax calculator for a quick "paycheck checkup." The calculator is crucial in determining if an updated W-4 form needs to be turned in to an employer to prevent withholding too much or too little income from paychecks.
“Understanding your paycheck and your tax withholdings can be confusing, especially when the tax forms change and for those new to the workforce,” said Rita Coventry, payroll coordinator. “By better understanding allowances and tax withholding on the W-4 form, people can avoid the headache that may come when tax season arrives.”
