Kaiser High School theatre students recently participated in the California State Thespian Festival, where they joined more than 1,400 theatre students around the state to compete, take workshops and see plays and scenes.

Kaiser was ranked in the top 10 percent of theatre programs and performances in the state, and several students earned honors during the festival:

• Kelly Bouslaiby and Myah Lumford took first place in duet acting;

• Lilian Martinez came in second place in monologue acting;

• State finalist Serena Davis participated in a monologue with Britney Landeros Gomez and Noemi Baltodano, and they were state representative finalists.
