Local residents are invited to beat the heat this summer and take advantage of the numerous aquatics programs and pool events organized by the City of Fontana Community Services Department.

All of the city's pools will open on Saturday, May 25.

These participating aquatic sites offer recreational swim:

• Don Day Center, Heritage Center and Miller Pools: Pools are open Monday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. and Monday through Friday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission prices for children (ages 3 through 17) are $3, adults are $5 and seniors (ages 55 and over) are $1.50.

• Martin Tudor Splash Park: Open Monday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Children (ages 3 through 17) are $3, adults are $5 and seniors (ages 55 and over) are $1.50.

• Fontana Park Aquatic Center: Open Monday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. through Aug. 18. Admission is based on height as follows:

34 to 47 inches: $5

48 inches and up: $7 (includes water slide usage)

Seniors 55 and over: $1.50 (includes water slide usage)

Swimmers must be at least 48 inches tall in order to have access to the water slide.

----- ASIDE from recreational swim, the following events are additional ways to stay cool this summer and provide a family-fun atmosphere for residents to enjoy:

• Family Fun Nights: Every Tuesday starting June 4 and continuing through July 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Don Day, Heritage Center, and Miller Pools. Family Fun Nights include swimming, music, games, and giveaways. Regular admission pricing applies.

• Dive-In Movie Nights: Every Friday from June 7 through July 26 at Heritage Center Pool from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The movie will start at 8:15 p.m. Regular admission pricing applies. The Don Day Pool will also host Dive-In Movie Nights every Saturday from June 8 through July 27 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Regular admission applies.

• Fontana Pool-Ooza for teens will take place on Saturday, June 20 at Heritage Pool from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Regular admission pricing applies.

• Swim-2-Win Swim Meet will be held on Saturday, July 20 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Fontana Park Aquatic Center. Check-in is at 7:30 a.m. This event is free and open to registered swim lesson participants.
