KISS

KISS band members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons have a photo taken with Farron Dozier, who volunteers at the Veterans Resource Center in Fontana, and Glenn Loveless of the Heroes Warehouse in Fontana.  They attended the grand opening of Rock & Brews at San Manuel.

Veterans from Fontana were among the many people who had a great time at the grand opening of the Rock & Brews restaurant at San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino in Highland on Dec. 6.

The veterans had a chance to meet the restaurant's famous founders, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of the rock band KISS.

Making the day even more special was a check for $20,500 that was donated to Volunteers for Veterans Foundation in Fontana during the fundraising celebration.

"The event was truly great, and more than 100 veterans from all eras were able to come together to be honored and have lunch," said Farron Dozier, SFC retired U.S. Army disabled veteran and founder of Whatz Da Count on Sickle Cell Trait Prevention.

Dozier, who volunteers at the Veterans Resource Center in Fontana, enjoyed talking with Simmons and Stanley.

"Meeting KISS was like meeting my childhood band, remembering the painted faces," Dozier said.

The new Rock & Brews and adjacent Rockin' Casino at San Manuel offers seating for 225 people and is 5,500 square feet. Customized rock and roll music videos from more than 1,000 artists are displayed on state-of-the art high definition screens and LED light panels embedded in the ceiling and walls. Frequent live performances will take place on a fully integrated stage located in the restaurant.
