Officers are searching for a suspect who groped an 18-year-old woman during a prayer session at a park on Sept. 22, according to the Fontana Police Department.

At about 10:30 a.m., the victim approached the young man at Jack Bulik Park in central Fontana to invite him to church. Both the victim and the suspect decided to sit on a park bench and pray.

While the victim's eyes were closed, the suspect began to grope her. The victim then opened her eyes and realized the suspect's pants were down.

The victim attempted to get away from the suspect and call 9-1-1. The suspect held the victim down and threatened to hurt her if she did not hang up the phone.

The victim hung up the phone, broke free from the suspect and ran away. The suspect chased the victim until she reached another person in the park and called 9-1-1 again.

The suspect escaped and is wanted on a charge of false imprisonment. He is described as a 19-year-old man who has a rosary tattoo on his left hand and a "t" or cross tattoo on his chest.

Persons who have any information regarding this incident are urged to contact the Fontana P.D.'s anonymous hotline at (909) 356-TIPS or submit an anonymous tip online at
