Detectives conducted a suspicious death investigation in the 9100 block of Olive Street in Fontana on the morning of Sept. 11, according to the Fontana Police Department.

Detectives conducted a suspicious death investigation at a residence in the 9100 block of Olive Street in Fontana on the morning of Sept. 11, according to the Fontana Police Department.

At 8 a.m., a homeowner called 911 after going into his back yard and finding a blood trail. He followed the trail to a person who was found to be deceased in a water tank.

The dead body had no relation to the residence, said Officer Daniel Romero.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner's Division was on scene and working on identifying the body. Detectives are following up on leads.

Although Olive Street was temporarily closed from Randall Avenue to Athol Street, there was no danger to the public, police said.

No other details were immediately available.
