Eight persons were arrested during a DUI checkpoint in Fontana on Nov. 21, according to the Fontana Police Department.

The event was held at 9315 Citrus Avenue from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Two individuals were arrested for DUI (alcohol), while five individuals were arrested for their outstanding warrants and one individual was arrested for resisting arrest.

A total of 45 drivers were also cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, and 15 additional citations were issued.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
