Fontana Exchange Club

Members of the Fontana Exchange Club’s Board of Directors were recently sworn in by Mayor Acquanetta Warren.

The Fontana Exchange Club is making preparations for the annual Fontana Christmas Parade, which will be held Dec. 14 in the downtown area.

The theme this year with be "The Magic of Christmas."

Persons who are interested in participating in the event this year can go to the Exchange Club's website, www.fontanadays.com, and complete the Christmas Parade entry application.

"The Fontana Exchange Club is excited and looking forward to another awesome year as we impact the lives of youth in our community by exemplifying our motto, Unity for Service, through daily acts of steadfast purpose," said Sonja Dawkins, the Exchange Club president.

Dawkins said the club is also looking forward to the 2020 Fontana Days activities. The Fontana Days Parade is scheduled for May 2 next year and the festival will take place June 4-7. The theme will be "The Roaring 20s."

Residents who are looking for a place to serve in the local community are invited to join the club as it meets every Wednesday at noon at the Sizzler restaurant on Sierra and Marygold avenues.

The Exchange Club recently donated $1,000 to Fontana's Relay For Life, which supports the American Cancer Society.

The Exchange Club's new 2019-2020 Board of Directors includes Maggie Gonzalez, secretary; Tina Kalberg, treasurer; Melba Rey, scholarship chair; and Pamela Anderson-Eshleman and R. Dale Evans, members at large.
