The Fontana Police Department is investigating an incident in which a man died after being struck by a vehicle on Sept. 7.

A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in western Fontana on Sept. 7, according to the Fontana Police Department.

At about 11:45 p.m., officers responded to the scene of the incident on Foothill Boulevard west of Mulberry Avenue, said Officer Daniel Romero.

Officers determined that the driver was traveling westbound on Foothill in the No. 1 lane. A 47-year-old man, a resident of Rancho Cucamonga, was attempting to cross Foothill outside the crosswalk when the collision occurred.

Medics from the San Bernardino County Fire Department arrived and pronounced the man deceased.

The man was identified as Hussein Elias Saab, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner's Division.

The driver remained on scene and was cooperating with the investigation. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision.
