The Fontana Police Department's traffic detectives are asking for the public's help in locating the suspect involved in a major injury hit and run collision.

On Oct. 4 at about 9:24 p.m., Fontana Police officers responded to the area of Lytle Creek Road and Duncan Canyon Road in Fontana for a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

Police said the victim (a male adult) may have been trying to move wildlife out of the roadway when he was struck. The victim was in critical condition, police said.

Investigators determined that the fleeing vehicle was a 2017-2019 Toyota Corolla "S" model, silver in color.

The vehicle is missing a driver's side mirror and may have other front end damage.

The Fontana P.D. is seeking the public's help in locating the suspect vehicle and the driver, as well as any possible witnesses.
