The Fontana Police Department is seeking residents' help in identifying the person(s) responsible for going on a pellet gun vandalism spree.
Over the weekend (Nov. 9-10), unknown suspect(s) used a pellet gun to break out windows of more than 14 vehicles in the eastern area of Fontana, between Baseline Avenue in the north to San Bernardino Avenue in the south.
The incidents took place in the early morning hours of Sunday and Monday. Several expensive cars and old cars were among the vehicles that were hit, but the targets seemed to be random, said Fontana Police Officer Daniel Romero.
There have been no reports of any injuries, and no houses were hit, he said.
It appears as though a passenger in a vehicle may have been the shooter, firing mostly at cars parked along the streets and a few that were in driveways, he said.
"We are asking for the public's help to be on the lookout and identify the people responsible," Romero said.
If anyone has information or video to share, they are asked to call (909) 350-7700.
