Several Fontana schools will receive recognition for their platinum, gold and silver awards from the California PBIS Coalition on Dec. 13.

The California PBIS Coalition provides the awards for outstanding work with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to improve the culture on campus for students and staff.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center in Rancho Cucamonga, hosted by San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools' PBIS program.

The recipients from the Fontana Unified School District and the award received are:

Alder (silver); Citrus (gold); Cypress (silver); Dolores Huerta International Academy (silver); Jurupa Hills High School (silver); Oleander (silver); Sequoia (silver); Harry S. Truman (silver); and West Randall (silver).

In addition, schools from the Colton Joint Unified School District also won awards:

Colton High (silver); Cooley Ranch (silver); Joe Baca (silver); Michael D'Arcy (silver); Mary B. Lewis (silver); William McKinley (silver); Reche Canyon (silver); Sycamore Hills (silver); and Washington High (silver).
