A math teacher at Jurupa Hills High School has resigned after being arrested for allegedly being involved in sexual misconduct, according to the Fontana School Police Department.
Back on May 24, the Fontana Unified School District received a report of possible misconduct by an employee and started an investigation. Law enforcement officials were immediately informed, and the employee was placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation.
The Fontana School Police Department, with assistance from the Fontana Police Department, filed a criminal case with the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. The case is still under review.
The employee, Daisy Torres, remained on administrative leave until the district received her resignation, effective Aug. 30. She remains barred from all FUSD campuses.
At this time, law enforcement officials believe that this case pertains to only one alleged victim. No other information regarding the victim was released.
