A daycare facility operator in Highland was arrested on charges of willful cruelty to a child and false imprisonment, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

On Nov. 3 at 7 p.m., deputies from the Highland Police Station contacted the Crimes Against Children Detail regarding an investigation involving a one-year-old boy and five-month-old girl who attended an in-home licensed daycare facility. It was reported the children were alleged victims of child abuse/endangerment.

On Nov. 4 at 3 p.m., detectives from the Crimes Against Children Detail responded to the location in the 7000 block of Nye Drive and contacted Rosalind Drinkard-Batiste, 53, the operator of Drinkard-Batiste Family Child Care.

Following an extensive investigation, Drinkard-Batiste was arrested, and her bail was set at $100,000.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives believe there may be additional victims.
