Five men were arrested on charges of solicitation for prostitution during a "John" operation on July 19, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The suspects ranged in age from 29 to 41 and were all residents of the county.
The in-call hotel operation took place at about 3 p.m. in the 1000 block of Colton Avenue in Redlands and was coordinated by the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force, in a combined effort with Sheriff's Gang Team members and officers from the Redlands Police Department.
Undercover officers were deployed at a hotel to pose as prostitutes through on-line advertisements, which are more often used as a means for the commercialized trafficking of underaged victims in the sex trade, the county said.
During the operation, the officers were contacted and solicited for acts of prostitution by the suspects. Upon their arrival at the location, the suspects were taken into custody.
