A man died in a traffic collision in Bloomington on June 9, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At about 9:29 p.m., a 37-year-old Moreno Valley man in a white Ford F-250 was traveling on Cedar Avenue southbound, north of Santa Ana Avenue, at an unknown speed.

For reasons still under investigation, the driver allowed his vehicle to travel off the roadway and collide with a fire hydrant and power pole. The collision caused the driver to be ejected from the vehicle, suffering major injuries. The driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene by emergency personnel.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner’s Division.
