A 37-year-old man died after being shot in San Bernardino on June 30, and a suspect has turned himself in to police, according to the San Bernardino Police Department.
At about 2:42 a.m., the San Bernardino Police Department’s Dispatch Center received a call of a shooting in the 1400 block of West Lomita Court and officers were dispatched to the scene. Officers arrived and found that the man appeared to have been
shot. He was transported to a local hospital, were he succumbed to his injuries. He was later identified as Davon Wayne Matta.
Detectives determined that an argument took place involving family members at the residence just before the shooting occurred.
The suspect, Albert Cain, 58, was related to the victim and there are no other suspects outstanding at this time, police said.
On July 1, Cain turned himself in to the San Bernardino Police Department Homicide Unit. He was later booked at West Valley Detention Center.
