A pastor at a church in Jurupa Valley was arrested on charges relating to sexual assault, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

On Nov. 8, a minor female contacted deputies to report an alleged sexual assault at her church.

Deputies learned that Sean Ortiz, a 51-year-old Jurupa Valley resident and lead pastor at New Beginnings Community Church, allegedly sexually assaulted a minor female parishioner at the church on at least two separate occasions.

Ortiz was located at his residence and arrested. He was subsequently booked into Robert Presley Detention Center.

This investigation is ongoing. Investigators are asking any additional possible victims to come forward. Persons who have information related to this incident, or believe that they or someone else may have been victimized, are urged to contact investigators at the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station by calling (951) 955-2600.
