A 46-year-old Rancho Cucamonga woman died in a traffic collision in Rancho Cucamonga on Aug. 29, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
At about 8:30 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to the scene of the incident at Arrow Route and Sierra Madre Avenue.
According to authorities, a 27-year-old Rancho Cucamonga woman drove a Chevrolet Spark east on Arrow while Jennifer Lopez, a pedestrian, crossed while not being in a marked crosswalk. The Chevrolet struck Lopez as she crossed the street.
Lopez suffered major injuries and was declared deceased on-scene by the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department. The driver remained on-scene and spoke to investigators. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
