Two men died in a vehicle collision in San Bernardino on Dec. 5, according to the San Bernardino Police Department.
At about 12:23 p.m., a Volkswagen Beetle driven by 19-year-old Rancho Cucamonga woman was eastbound on Kendall Drive approaching the intersection with Lakewood Street.
A Nissan pickup truck driven by David Wesley, 86, was westbound on Kendall in the No. 1 lane. For an unknown reason, Wesley turned left in front of Lewis as both vehicles were in the intersection. The Volkswagen broadsided the Nissan on the passenger side.
In the vehicle with Wesley, Christopher Robinson, 72, was seated in the front passenger seat. As a result of the collision, Robinson died at the scene and Wesley died at a hospital.
The driver of the Beetle and her front passenger suffered minor injuries and were released the same day from a hospital.
It appears that neither speed nor alcohol were factors in this collision.
The collision is still under investigation and anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Dan Acosta or Sergeant Jeff Harvey at (909) 384-5792.
