Two suspects were arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle following a short pursuit which began in Highland and ended in San Bernardino, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
On July 30 at about 1:01 p.m., deputies from the Highland Police Department located a reported stolen white utility truck. Deputies attempted a traffic stop on Tippecanoe Avenue near 6th Street, but the driver failed to stop.
The driver, identified as Joshua Gleason, a 25-year-old San Bernardino resident, drove recklessly through the streets of San Bernardino, the Sheriff's Department said.
Gleason lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of Waterman Avenue and Mill Street, sheared a tree, and hit parked vehicles in a parking lot. Gleason got out of the truck and fled but was arrested a short time later.
The passenger, 28-year-old Dylan Soto of Yorba Linda, fled as well but was detained during the investigation.
Gleason was arrested on charges of felony evading, possession of a stolen vehicle, and outstanding felony warrants. Soto was arrested for outstanding warrants.
