The California Highway Patrol is reporting that a female pedestrian died after being struck by a motorcycle in San Bernardino on Aug. 22.

A female pedestrian died after being struck by a motorcycle in San Bernardino on Aug. 22, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At about 11:25 p.m., the 31-year-old woman was walking northbound, in the southbound lane of Glasgow Avenue, just south of Independent Place, the CHP said.

A 70-year-old San Bernardino man who was driving a 1987 Honda XL600R was traveling southbound on Glasgow Avenue, in the southbound lane, approaching the pedestrian.

For reasons still under investigation, the pedestrian was walking within the lane and was struck by the motorcycle. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner's Division.
