A pedestrian died after being struck by two vehicles on Sept. 6, and authorities are investigating the hit-and-run incident, according to the San Bernardino Police Department.
At about 9:12 p.m., two vehicles were traveling north on E Street at yet-to-be determined speeds. At the same time, a woman was crossing E Street north of 16th Street.
The first vehicle collided with the pedestrian in the roadway, and moments later, the second vehicle hit the pedestrian. The unidentified woman sustained major injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the first vehicle remained at the scene and was uninjured.
The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene after the collision. Witnesses described the second vehicle as a light-colored minivan operated by a woman.
