Fontana’s Community Services Department announced that it will continue Mayor Acquanetta Warren's #FontanaKindness initiative throughout the year at all 40 parks and 14 recreation sites, including City Hall, and will encourage residents to participate in a daily act of kindness.
Residents can look for a Kindness Station at their local recreation center or follow the Community Services Department Acts of Kindness list.
“Acts of kindness are contagious and can make a difference in the lives that need it the most,” said Mayor Acquanetta Warren.
One act of kindness can inspire someone else to do an act of kindness and the action will multiply. Simple acts like picking up trash, complimenting a class instructor, or helping a neighbor can all go a long way in spreading kindness.
“As a city department dedicated to serving others and fostering a positive and fun environment, the Community Services Department is excited to expand the Fontana Kindness initiative throughout the entire year,” said Community Services Department Director Garth Nelson. “This special campaign provides visitors to any city community center a free and fun opportunity to help create a kinder world together.”
Residents can share their kind act on social media using the hashtags #FontanaKindness and #FontanaKindnessChallenge. By using the hashtags, the City of Fontana will also share the post through its social media platforms. For those with private social media accounts, city leaders recommend direct messaging the city their Fontana Kindness post.
