A man driving a stolen vehicle was arrested after allegedly leading officers on a pursuit in Fontana on June 12, according to the Fontana Police Department.
At about 9:40 p.m., officers located a stolen Honda Accord traveling north on Sierra Avenue from Randall Avenue. The driver refused to stop for the officers' lights and sirens, so a pursuit was initiated.
The driver tried to elude officers for several minutes before turning into the Napa Auto Parts parking lot on Sierra. While in the parking lot, a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver was used to stop the pursuit.
The driver attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. He was booked at West Valley Detention Center on a charge of grand theft auto.
He was later identified as Augustine Seto, 39, a documented gang member, according to Fontana Police Officer Daniel Romero.
The stolen vehicle was returned to the owner at the scene.
