The California Highway Patrol reported that a man riding a motorcycle was killed in a vehicle collision on the Interstate 10 Freeway on July 12.

A man riding a motorcycle was killed in a vehicle collision on the Interstate 10 Freeway in Bloomington in the early morning hours of July 12, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At about 4:11 a.m., an unidentified driver of an unknown make and model motorcycle was traveling on I-10 eastbound, east of Cedar Avenue, at an unknown speed. For reasons still under investigation, the driver was involved in a collision and the driver was ejected onto lanes of the freeway.

A vehicle traveling on I-10 eastbound, east of Cedar, at an unknown speed subsequently struck the driver of the motorcycle. Another vehicle traveling in the same direction struck the motorcycle. Both parties involved in the subsequent collisions remained on scene and were not injured.

The driver of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner’s Division.
