Crews from the City of Fontana Engineering Department installed a new traffic signal on Oct. 1 at the intersection of Merrill, Oleander, and Fontana avenues.

Construction began in early June to convert the five-way stop configuration to a fully signalized intersection in order to increase safety for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The completed intersection also includes rehabilitation to pavement, signage and striping, city officials said.
