The Fontana Police Department arrested one individual for having an outstanding warrant while conducting a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint on July 6.

The checkpoint was located on Cherry Avenue, north of Santa Ana Avenue, in southern Fontana between the hours of 8 p.m. and 3 a.m.

No persons were arrested on DUI charges, but 12 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, and 22 additional citations were issued, police said.

The funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
