Fontana A.B. Miller High School hosted its annual Math Field Day for local elementary and middle school students on March 1 and 2.

The students had fun competing for top honors in several math-related events.

The purpose of Math Field Day was to promote mathematical application, critical thinking skills, and collaboration, said Moises Merlos, the Miller principal.

Alder took first place in the middle school competition, and teams from Wayne Ruble came in second and third place.

In the elementary school competition, teams from Kathy Binks came in first and second place, and Juniper was third.
