A teenage boy was arrested for allegedly stabbing a woman and a boy in northwestern Fontana on July 9.

The two victims were transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries and are expected to survive, police said. The woman was believed to be about 21 or 22 years old, and the boy was believed to be about 11 or 12 years old.

The incident occurred shortly after noon in the 13700 block of Sunrise Street.

Police said the 15-year-old suspect fled the scene on a bicycle, but officers found him in the area of Mulberry Avenue south of Foothill Boulevard and detained him.

The victims and the suspect were all believed to know each other, but their exact relationship was not immediately confirmed.

Detectives worked with the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office and later booked the suspect into Juvenile Hall for two counts of attempted murder, said Fontana Police Officer Rich Guerrero.
