The incident took place shortly at about 8:44 p.m. in the intersection of Maple Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.

Police said that the girl, a Rialto resident, was hit by a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old boy who was heading westbound on Foothill. The girl, who was accompanied by other family members at the time, was treated by emergency responders at the scene and then was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
