Stay in the shade

A heat advisory has been announced for this weekend (July 12-14) in Fontana, with temperatures projected to be above 100 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents are urged to stay indoors as much as possible and avoid the sun's harmful effects.

Here is the forecast:

Friday, July 12 -- Sunny, with a high near 101. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Friday night -- Mostly clear, with a low around 70. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Saturday, July 13 -- Sunny, with a high near 101. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Saturday night -- Mostly clear, with a low around 69. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light south in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Sunday, July 14 -- Sunny, with a high near 101.

Sunday night -- Clear, with a low around 70.

Monday, July 15 -- Sunny, with a high near 101.
