Donna Lee Mockus, born in Shady Point, Oklahoma and a long-time resident of Fontana, passed away quietly in her home on Nov. 19 near the town where she was born.
She was born Sept. 27, 1932. Moving to Fontana in the early 1950s, Donna met her future husband Jim. She worked for Security Pacific Bank and the Rialto Unified School District but was happiest when she was able to stay home and support her two daughters who were involved in a number of extra-curricular activities while in junior high and high school.
Donna is probably best known as an avid quilter and crafter who enjoyed selling her creations at local craft fairs. She also donated many of her quilts and dolls to local organizations and student groups to help them raise funds.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jim Mockus. She leaves behind her two daughters, Sherry Hamilton and Marsha Reynaga and their husbands PJ Hamilton and Ray Reynaga; and two granddaughters, Debby and Jobby Tseng.
Donna was both loving and generous and will be sorely missed.
Donna will be buried next to her husband in the Shady Point Cemetery.
