Jose Abelardo Acosta
March 6, 1946 – October 9, 2019
Resident of Fontana, California
After a battle with lung cancer, Jose passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family. Jose served as an elder at Bloomington Spanish Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He was born to the late Samuel and Esperanza Acosta and was the beloved husband of Evangelina Acosta for more than 50 years.
Jose Acosta is survived by his seven children and their spouses, Octavio and Sylvia Santoyo, Jaime Acosta, Marcos Acosta, Alfredo and Cynthia Penn, Jesus and Cinder Lugo, Rafael and Eunise Tinoco, and Max and Berenice Kennedy; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Desiree Irene Santoyo and daughter-in-law Nancy Acosta.
Jose loved reading and teaching Bible truths, helping others, laughing, being with his family, and enjoying company with friends. Jose touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. Jose Acosta will be missed by many and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Truly one of a kind.
Service will be held Oct. 19 at Bloomington Spanish Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (friends and family only).
