The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes clinched the California League South Division first half championship on June 11, and they continued their winning ways the following day with a 9-4 triumph over Lake Elsinore.
The red-hot Quakes, who have qualified for the postseason for the fifth consecutive year, extended their overall winning streak to six straight games. They are the defending league champions.
The Quakes improved to 40-24 on the season, making them 16 games over .500 for the first time in 2019.
Rancho raced to an early 5-1 lead over Lake Elsinore with help from a home run by Devin Mann, his 12th of the year. After the Storm pulled within 5-4, Rancho clinched the game with four runs in the bottom of the eighth.
The Quakes will play four more games at home against the Storm this weekend (June 13-16). For ticket information, call (909) 481-5000 or visit www.rcquakes.com.
