Southridge

The Southridge players smile after winning the District 71 title.

Using excellent pitching, the Southridge Little League Major Division (11-12) softball all-stars won the District 71 championship on June 26 at Bill Martin Park in Fontana.

Southridge stopped Fontana American, 13-1, in the decisive game after winning by a 6-1 score the previous day.

Rosaline Torralva pitched very well for the Southridge squad, and the team's offense was helped by Alyssa Rios, Aaliyah Davis, and Karen Valencia, all of whom scored two runs.

Also contributing highly to the team's success were Jamantha Viscarra, Valerie Reyes, Vanessa Chavez, Haylee Torres, Mariah Sandfort, Amy Gaona, Ebony Tinoco, and Hanna Haro.

Southridge will now advance to the sectional tournament.
