The Summit SkyHawks' fine season came to an end on March 5 in the state playoffs.

The Summit basketball men lost to Bakersfield Christian, 49-43, in a Division 4 game in the Southern California Regionals.

The SkyHawks, who were seeded No. 13 in the state tournament, finished with a 21-13 record. Their season included a share of the Sunkist League championship, three victories in the CIF Southern Section playoffs, and one victory in the state event.

On March 3, the SkyHawks brought down Oakwood of North Hollywood, the No. 4 seed in the tourney, by a 79-70 margin.

Miguel Robles led four SkyHawks in double figures with 18 points, including four 3-pointers.

Chazz Bruny put in 14 points and brought down 9 rebounds. Freshman Wes Hatcher had 13 points and was strong defensively, while Ashton West had 12 points and dished out 5 assists.

Freshman Jason Roberts did a great job on defense, according to coach John Romagnoli.
